Hi, I’m Katarzyna Michalik, but most people call me Kasia (pronounced Ka-sha). I’m the founder of Inked Owl Creative, where I use storytelling, education, and strategic communication to bridge the gap between climate action, health, and social equity.
With over a decade of experience in marketing and content creation, my background spans healthcare, publishing, nonprofits, and sustainability. My work as a communications director for a solar company first introduced me to the urgency of climate action, and from that moment on, I knew I wanted to do more than just tell stories—I wanted to create change.
In July 2023, I had the life-changing opportunity to travel to Irraipa, a small town in Colombia, to help install a solar project for the Wayuu community. Seeing how something as simple as electricity could transform lives deeply inspired me. Spending time alongside the Givepower Foundation, digging trenches and learning about the Wayuu culture, reinforced my commitment to using storytelling and education as tools for impact.
As a mom of three, I’ve always taught my kids the importance of leaving no trace, reducing food waste, and living sustainably. They are my motivation for pushing forward—even when the news about our planet isn’t always hopeful.
My own journey—immigrating from Poland to the U.S. in 1992 after the fall of communism—shaped my perspective on diversity, resilience, and the power of community. Growing up in Chicago exposed me to a world of different cultures, traditions, and viewpoints, which continues to fuel my passion for equity in climate solutions.
My long-term vision is to turn Inked Owl Creative into a foundation, where a portion of my proceeds will fund sustainable solutions and education for communities in need.
Through my work, I hope to equip individuals, organizations, and businesses with the knowledge and tools they need to drive meaningful change.
